Silom Locals Reveal 5 Hidden Nature Walks Tourists Never Find
Silom residents are rediscovering quiet trails that stay off the usual maps.
How we reported this
More Silom residents are choosing unmarked trails through small green pockets instead of the crowded paths in larger parks this July.
The shift comes as wellness routines in the neighbourhood adapt to hotter mornings and busier streets around Silom Road and Sathorn Road. Local groups have tracked a rise in early-morning outings since the start of 2025, when several new shaded routes opened through underused canal edges and office back lots.
Quiet routes near everyday landmarks
One favoured stretch begins at the end of Silom Soi 5 and follows the narrow canal path behind the old Silom Village compound before linking to a short bamboo grove maintained by the Silom Community Garden volunteers. Another loop starts at the pedestrian bridge near Chong Nonsi BTS and winds through the tree line along the Khlong Chong Nonsi extension, ending at a small fitness station run by the Silom Wellness Collective. Both routes avoid the main entrances that draw visitors to Lumphini Park.
City records from the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration show that 2,400 people registered for the Silom Green Corridor maintenance program in the first half of 2026, up from 1,650 the year before. Sessions at the collective cost 150 baht and run on Tuesdays and Fridays at 6:30 a.m.
Practical steps for first-time walkers
Start before 7 a.m. to stay ahead of traffic noise and heat. Carry water from the 7-Eleven on Naradhiwas Road and wear light colours. Download the free Silom Trails map from the collective website or ask at the garden notice board for the latest route updates. Those new to the area can join the next introductory walk on 18 July at no charge.
