Silom's Best Walking Trails: Five Routes Ranked by Distance and Difficulty
Silom residents can now choose from graded paths that match exact distances and effort levels across the district's main green spaces.
How we reported this

Silom added three marked walking routes in June with official distance and difficulty ratings posted at trailheads by the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration.
The ratings come as city health data shows a 22 percent rise in adult participation in outdoor exercise since the start of the year, driven by new signage and shaded rest stations along Sathorn and Silom roads.
Named routes and access points
Lumphini Park's perimeter path covers 2.5 kilometres on flat ground rated easy, while the newer Silom Riverside extension along the canal from Soi 8 to Naradhiwas Rajanagarindra Road adds 3.8 kilometres with moderate inclines at two footbridges. The Bangkok Parks Department opened the riverside section on 12 June and installed distance markers every 500 metres plus benches every kilometre.
Further north, the Chulalongkorn University edge trail on Henri Dunant Road provides a 1.2-kilometre beginner loop inside the campus fence line and connects directly to the longer 6.4-kilometre moderate route that circles the university sports fields and returns via Phayathai Road.
Usage numbers and costs
Park records show 8,400 recorded entries on the Lumphini perimeter alone during the first week of July, with guided group walks offered every Tuesday and Thursday at 6:30 a.m. for 80 baht per person through the Silom Wellness Network.
Walkers should start at the marked entrances on Sathorn Road or at the Lumphini MRT exit 2 before 8 a.m. to avoid peak heat, carry water and check the daily air-quality index posted at each trailhead. Those with existing conditions should speak with a local physician before attempting the longer moderate routes.
