Chatuchak Council Facilities Launch Group Exercise Classes Weekly
Council facilities across Chatuchak offer structured group sessions in yoga, aerobics and strength training at fixed weekly times.
How we reported this

Chatuchak District Office opened registration this week for its July group exercise roster at three indoor halls, with sessions running Monday through Saturday at set morning and evening slots.
Residents have turned to these low-cost council programs as daytime temperatures climb above 34 degrees and private gyms raise monthly fees beyond 1,500 baht. The district’s wellness push aligns with Bangkok Metropolitan Administration targets to increase physical activity among adults aged 30 to 55, a group that accounts for 42 percent of local health clinic visits for metabolic conditions.
Two sites anchor the schedule. The Chatuchak Sports Complex on Kamphaeng Phet 2 Road hosts aerobics and circuit classes in its air-conditioned hall from 7 a.m. to 8 a.m. daily. A short walk north, the Phahonyothin Community Centre near Soi 24 runs yoga and light resistance sessions at 6 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays, using mats and resistance bands supplied on site.
Timetables and costs
Each 60-minute class carries a 150-baht drop-in fee or a 1,200-baht ten-session pass valid through September. The district recorded 1,840 attendances across all council classes in June, up 18 percent from the same month last year. Instructors hold national fitness certifications and maintain a 15-participant cap per session to keep spacing clear.
Sign-up sheets sit at the district office front desk on Phahonyothin Road or can be completed online through the Chatuchak e-services portal before 5 p.m. the day prior. Participants must bring a towel and water bottle; lockers are available at both venues for 20 baht per use.
Next steps for residents
Newcomers are advised to arrive 15 minutes early for a brief health screening form. Those with existing conditions should consult their district health centre doctor before joining. Updated timetables appear each Friday on the district Facebook page and at the two facility entrances.
