Chatuchak Workers Gain Access to Mandated Stress Support, Counseling Services
Chatuchak employees can now access mandated stress support sessions and district-funded counseling under fresh labor rules that took effect this month.
How we reported this

Thailand's Ministry of Labour rolled out mandatory workplace wellbeing protocols on 1 July 2026 that require firms with more than 50 staff to schedule quarterly mental health briefings and allow up to three paid stress-leave days per year.
The change arrives as Bangkok's service and retail sectors report sustained pressure from extended shifts and tight deadlines, prompting district offices across the capital to expand local referral networks for workers who need immediate support.
Rights now written into contracts
Under the new guidelines, employers must display the stress-leave policy on staff notice boards and include it in onboarding documents. Workers who feel their requests are denied can file complaints directly with the Chatuchak District Labour Office on Kamphaeng Phet 6 Road, where officers have already handled 87 cases since the start of July.
Companies that ignore the rules face fines beginning at 20,000 baht, a figure set to rise with repeat violations.
Resources within walking distance
Staff at the Chatuchak District Public Health Center on Lat Phrao Road run free 45-minute counseling slots every Tuesday and Thursday afternoon for any resident holding a work permit. The same center also hosts a six-week stress-management course that costs 300 baht and meets in the evening so shift workers can attend.
Further along Phahonyothin Road, the monthly wellbeing workshops inside Chatuchak Park provide guided breathing sessions and peer discussion groups sponsored by the district office; the next round begins 15 July and registration opens at the park's information kiosk.
A 2025 national labour survey recorded that 58 percent of Bangkok workers experienced persistent anxiety tied to job demands, a figure district health staff cite when explaining why these programs expanded this year.
Anyone experiencing ongoing distress should speak first with a licensed physician at one of the listed sites before making changes to medication or routines.
