The Productivity Commission report on Bangkok district finances records that Sukhumvit allocated 18 percent of its 2026 operating budget to transport relief, up from 9 percent the previous year. Applications open on 15 July at district offices on Sukhumvit Soi 24 and must include proof of address and income statements from the Revenue Department.
Policy analysts note that the subsidy targets the corridor between Asok and Phrom Phong, where average one-way fares rose 8 baht after the January timetable adjustment. Workers commuting to offices in the EmQuartier and Terminal 21 areas stand to save the largest share of the new monthly cap.

The government says the first cards will be issued on 1 August after a two-week verification period. District staff will conduct spot checks at major stations through September to confirm usage matches registered addresses.
