Chatuchak District Council Revises Community Services Allocation Under 2026 Local Budget
The revision directs an extra 25 million baht toward expanded social programs that Chatuchak residents use for counseling, job support and elderly care.

The Chatuchak district office updated its community services policy on 3 July 2026 by raising the annual allocation for social welfare programs from 60 million baht to 85 million baht. The change applies to the Social Impact Community Grant Program administered by the district council and takes effect in the third quarter of the fiscal year.
The adjustment follows the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration’s mid-year review of district-level spending targets, which recorded a 14 percent rise in requests for local assistance services between January and May 2026. District records show the increase stems mainly from households near Lat Phrao Road and the Chatuchak Weekend Market area seeking support for elder care and youth employment.
Changes for Chatuchak households
Residents will see extended operating hours at three district community centers, including the facility on Soi 4 and the center near Kamphaeng Phet 2 Road. Families can now book same-week appointments for job-placement sessions and financial counseling instead of waiting up to three weeks. The policy document states that 1,200 additional slots will open each month for these services.
Local advocates note that the extra funding also covers transport vouchers for residents living more than 3 kilometres from the centers, a measure listed in the June 2026 budget paper. This detail directly reduces out-of-pocket costs for households that previously paid 40 to 60 baht per trip to reach services.
Implementation timeline
The government says the policy will begin with registration drives at district halls on 15 July 2026. Application forms will be available both in paper at the Chatuchak district office and through the Bangkok e-services portal. The council projects that 3,500 new households will be enrolled by December 2026, on top of the 8,200 households already using the programs in 2025.
District staff will hold information sessions at Chatuchak Park community hall on the last Saturday of each month starting in August. The schedule and eligibility rules are set out in the revised 2026 Local Budget document released by the mayor’s office.
